Squeeze the Day Marketing
Are you a CEO? That’s a Chief Explorer of Opportunities, of course! Students will take part in a week-long marketing, budgeting, and crafting course in our community. They will explore advertisements, practice counting and money skills, learn about grocery shopping, and create budgeting goals in preparation for hosting a lemonade stand at the end of the week! Students will participate in a walking field trip around downtown Half Moon Bay to hang up their homemade posters, and will learn valuable social skills along the way. We can’t wait to see these entrepreneurs grow!
Lemon Marketing Lab
Introduce your student to the world of marketing this summer with Main Street Scholars! We will explore advertising strategies, create posters with Canva, develop budgeting skills, and host a lemonade stand at the end of the week. Students will learn social skills and practice grocery shopping in the community as they gain valuable 21st century knowledge in a kid-friendly environment. Students are sure to have a SWEET time with their peers this week!
Future Leaders Lab
Calling all middle school and high school students in need of a summer job! Students will create mini-resumes and advertisement posters to promote their skills. We will assist students in scheduling interviews and applying for positions based on their abilities and needs. Students will also take part in budgeting lessons, mock interviews, and simple scheduling exercises to prepare them for a summer of opportunity! No experience necessary (from dog-walking to summer internships). Students should come prepared with a list of interests and dates for summer availability.
Sprout and Scribble Adventures
Are you a succulent student? A garden gal? Maybe a munching mathematician? You are the perfect plant person to attend our week long nature workshop at Main Street Scholars! Students will participate in nature journaling, growing edible plants for salad tasting, graphing plant growth, making mini-terrariums, and more throughout our time together. Students will become experts in observation and plant analysis, and will spend time with hands-on learning in the dirt, and may even eat their vegetables!
Nature Quest: Plant and Pen
Come here and explore the wonderful world of Coastside plants! Students will love getting hands-on in the garden as they explore all sorts of plants—including their own lunch. This week we will plant seeds, make terrariums, grow edible plants for salad tasting, and become experts in observation. Students will learn a variety of art techniques for nature journaling and explore connections that plants have to everything around us—did you know that plants can do math? It’s true, Fibonacci says so!
Start SHARP Camp
A-B-C-D-E-F-G—come to Main Street Scholars and learn with me! Students will participate in a play-based workshop to learn skills needed going into their kindergarten year. We will have shoe-tying contests, driveway chalk drawing championships, bracelet making, and a variety of other fun activities for your students throughout the week. Students will work on following routines, gaining social skills, engaging in beginning literacy and math activities, and participating in morning meeting sessions, all while having a kick-start to their school year! Students will need to be potty-trained and going into TK or Kindergarten in the Fall.
The Boom Lab/Blast Zone Academy
BOOM! CRASH! WOW! Students will explore the science of explosions through volcanos, mentos and soda graphing, egg-drop experiments, air rockets, elephant toothpaste, and more. We will design our own versions of rockets, participate in a virtual field trip, and be hands-on with motion and energy skills all week long! Students will be problem-solvers and learn peer collaboration skills through a variety of play-based activities. We can’t wait for you to EXPLODE into our classroom this summer!
Note: This is a 4-day camp due to the 4th of July holiday.

Book Worms and Storytellers
Main Street Scholars, Main Street Scholars, What Do You See? I see learners looking at me! Students will explore their love of reading and writing this week in a community-based program, including library explorations, comic creations, illustration work, mini-lessons, book-bingo and literacy discussions. Not only will your child enjoy making new friends and discovering exciting books, but our program also helps bridge the summer learning gap by preparing them for a successful school year ahead. Come prepared for a week of community and inspiring beginning literacy lovers!
Epic Tales and Adventures
Writing your summer story—one chapter at a time! Students will take part in a community-based program to inspire young learners on reading and writing. Students will be taking part in library explorations, writing and illustrating comics, journaling and diving into creative writing, and engaging in peer literacy discussions. We will be exploring different genres and authors, and learning the process of publishing their work for others to enjoy! Not only will your child enjoy making new friends and discovering exciting books, but our program also helps bridge the summer learning gap by preparing them for a successful school year ahead. We can’t wait to meet the next generation of authors!
Sewing Superstars
Is your student always getting tangled up into projects? Or dragging you to the craft store every weekend? We have just the thing for them! Students will explore all sorts of sewing projects and crafts this week, including making their own stuffed animals, learning mending skills, creating a sit-upon, embroidering a tote bag, and more! We will teach the basics of sewing and yarn crafts without a machine, and students will take home their unique homemade creations to love for years to come. We are going to have SEW much fun!
